Emperor head and snow, Oxford

Emperor head and snow in winter, Sheldonian Theatre, Oxford, England, UK

The famous Sheldonian Theatre, Oxford is fronted by thirteen carved busts of Roman Emperors. With the first winter snow of 2012, the statues were today wearing suitably cold expressions.

Two of my emperor head pictures have been licensed by the National Gallery of Art, Washington DC. The gallery will be showing them in a video podcast originally used to illustrate a lecture entitled, “The Twelve Caesars: Images of Power from Ancient Rome to Salvador Dalí”.
